Logo Design Process

The process of creating my logos all started with adobe illustrator. I used adobe illustrator as it is clean and is an easy software to use for making logos.

What I wanted to portray through my logos was an organic, raw and earthy feel that resonated with my photography style. For my final logo, I have tried to incorporate the image of a camera as it highlights the very purpose of my business and demonstrates a clear, honest message. Furthermore, I have tried to make the logo balanced by having the text and icon fit within a rectangle. This was done so that the logo would look good either big or small, on a business card or a billboard. I have made the bold choice to use both texts of my final logo with sans serif fonts as I wanted to communicate an artistic style within my business, yet also to show formality and reliability. Using this type of font tells viewers that I have a well established and maintained business.

How it all started

From the feedback given by mentors and supervisors, I have learned to experiment and implement different styles of texts, icons, phrasing and sizing into my logos. In comparison to my final logo and the 5 experiments below, the final showcases a more clean and professional look than the experiments. My final logo is sophisticated and simple compared to the experiments below. My final logo compared to the logo within the image below is better compositionally as it is not distracting and shows a clear and easy to read message.
